Motherless Mothers Support Group: Parenting Adult Children

You did it! You successfully raised your child(ren) to adulthood! Congratulations!!! Now what? Please join She Climbs Mountains and Peer Facilitator Cheryl Harjes for a 5-week session to talk about just that. Parenting adults is not at all what we imagined, and it is much harder than it looks – especially without our mothers as a role model. We will meet online on Thursdays from 6:30-8pm, April 13, April 27, May 4, May 11, and May 25.

Topics:

  • April 13: Dealing with the empty nest, or not!

    • How to quit treating our children like children.

    • What happens when our children move out, and then back in, and then out again, and then back in….

  • April 27: Helping them navigate breakups, engagements, marriages, etc.

  • May 4: Communication and getting together

    • When are you texting or calling too much or not enough, and how do you know?

    • How often do they expect you to visit, or not

    • How to navigate holiday schedules.

  • May 11: How to handle unusual and changing family dynamics

  • May 25: How to leave a legacy without becoming a packrat

    • Making sure your mom isn’t forgotten.

    • Should I keep all of my children's old toys and books for future grandchildren?

    • Dealing with all the stuff our children leave behind – ribbons, medals, trophies, artwork, etc.

Free with a suggested donation of $20.
